The TSS (Turret Support Server) is at the heart of IP Trade’s architecture. It is a web-based application running on Windows2003, making use of SQL server and IIS. It is offered either as a software only version or as a device. It is offered in 2 versions, one dedicated for small trading floors and limited to 10 users, the other that is virtually unlimited, the CPU and memory capacity being the only consideration to sizing.
This is a fully redundant solutions and is capable of being virtualized using "VMware" type technology.
The TSS fulfils 3 main roles :- extension of some user specific features of the IP PBX :
- Associating 6000 shortcuts to an extension
- Providing configurable GUI's per user
- Managing the turrets (software updates, back up of configurations for example.)
- authentication of the user (direct or as a proxy to Radius or LDAP systems)
- acting as a gateway to other applications using webservice, sql, xml or MQ
