We are pleased to announce today that IP Trade has signed an agreement to be acquired by BT. Completion of the deal is subject to certain conditions, including regulatory clearance and is expected to close in Q1 2017.

In 2005, IP Trade set out to develop the world’s leading software-based critical communications platform leveraging enterprise IT infrastructure and unified communications and with the support of our customers, investors and partners we believe we have achieved that goal.

Over the past 24-months, as we experienced unprecedented growth, it became apparent that the company would need “a bigger platform for its platform.” We knew that to achieve our long-term goal of delivering critical communications solutions at scale and in the cloud to more and even larger customers would require a significant additional commitment of time, capital, expertise and resources.

To deliver on this new vision, we believe that being part of a company like BT will enable us to reach these goals much more quickly while offering greater value to customers and exciting opportunities for our employees and partners.

Once the management team at IP Trade began exploring the possibilities of a partnership with BT, we became excited about the potential to combine the innovative technology and culture of IP Trade with the pedigree and resources of a world-class company like BT to better serve the market and our customers.

As the deal progresses toward completion we will be providing additional communications about next steps and the future. If you have any questions about the transaction and what it will mean for you, please contact us.

In the meantime, for your peace of mind, we want to point out that some things will not change: you will continue to work with the same people that you have in the past, as our employees are being retained in their current roles. The products and services we have provided you through our partners in the past will continue to be offered.

We are looking forward to what will be an exciting period for both IP Trade and BT, and are looking forward to working together to build on our past success and to bring our innovative products to a wider customer market.
